Radiologic Technology
Mission Statement:
The Radiologic Technology Program, through its curricular offerings, provides educational experiences to empower diverse learners and prepare students to function with essential knowledge to meet employment needs in Radiologic Technology.
Accreditation:
The Triton College Radiologic Technology Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The program received a full 8-year accreditation in 2022. The next review date will be in 2030.

Program Goals and Student Learning Outcomes:
The program will graduate students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be clinically competent
- Students will apply appropriate and safe care to patients in radiology
- Students will select appropriate technical factors for optimal radiographic images
- Students will comply with the appropriate radiation protection standards for patients and staff
- Students will demonstrate proper positioning skills on radiography examinations in which they are proficient
The program will graduate students with the ability to effectively communicate
- Students will utilize effective oral communication skills in the clinical setting with patients, staff, and visitors
- Students will employ effective written communication skills necessary to obtain accurate patient histories
The program will prepare students to successfully apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Students will produce diagnostic quality radiographs on examinations in which they are proficient
- Students will be able to manipulate, problem solve and critique aspects of difficult patients
The program will provide the students with the knowledge to evaluate the importance of professional growth and development within the field of radiologic technology
- Students will explain and support the importance of continued professional development in radiologic technology
- Students will articulate the importance of attendance at professional meetings
Employment opportunities exist in hospitals, clinics and medical imaging centers.

In addition to fulfilling the selective admission health program requirements, candidates must complete the following general admission requirements: complete a Triton College application, submit applicable transcripts, take placement exams or demonstrate course equivalency, and complete new student orientation.

Radiologic Technology Degree Information Session Registration
Disclosure: Full disclosure of any ticket, citation, summons, arrest, charges or convictions for a misdemeanor or felony is required in writing to the Program Chairperson prior to applying to the Radiology program. Applicants must contact the Program Chairperson for preapproval information well in advance of the program application deadline. Written approval may take up to 12 weeks to complete. Individuals who have been charged or convicted of a misdemeanor or felony must pre-apply to the ARRT by filling out an Ethics Review Pre-Application. Once the written preapproval to take the examination is received in writing from the Program Chairperson, students may apply to the program. If any disclosure is not received and it appears on a background check or is discovered later, your application will be disqualified and/or clinical site revoked immediately. Completing an Ethics Review Pre-Application does not guarantee admission or employment.
